The Network for Landscape Conservation has launched the 2022 application process for its Catalyst Fund, which provides capacity-building grants to collaborative conservation organizations. Applications are due April 22, 2022.

Funding, up to $25,000, is awarded to strengthen the collaborative infrastructure and coordination capacity of place-based, community-grounded Landscape Conservation Partnerships like RCPs. RCPs in the later Emerging, Maturing, and early Conserving stages of development may be prime candidates for the funding. For more information about how to apply, click here.

The Catalyst Fund strives to accelerate the pace and practice of landscape conservation across the United States by making strategic investments in strengthening the collaborative infrastructure and coordination capacity of place-based, community-grounded Landscape Conservation Partnerships.

A portion of the Catalyst Fund is dedicated to supporting Indigenous leadership in landscape conservation. According to the Partnership, “We especially invite Partnerships that are led by Indigenous peoples, organizations, and communities to apply.”

Applicants interested in applying for these capacity-building grants should carefully review the RFP as well as the Applicant Guidance Document to best understand their fit with the Fund and how to submit a strong proposal. These FAQs may also be helpful in clarifying any questions.

Catalyst Fund grants are intended to allow for strategic investments in strengthening a Partnership’s collaborative capacity and process in ways that create enduring forward momentum within the Partnership and accelerate conservation progress into the future.

Explore the details and description of each 2021 grant award on their website. In addition, a full list and description of the 2021 grant recipients can be downloaded here.

The webinars will take place from December 2021 to April 2022, and will feature panel discussions, case studies, and networking opportunities for participants to take a deep dive into tangible, innovative approaches to conservation funding and financing. The concepts and lessons learned from the case studies presented will be broadly applicable to practitioners everywhere. Each session will build on the previous sessions, culminating in the “Dolphin Tank” exercise*, where participants will have the opportunity to analyze and deliberate solutions to real-world conservation problems. Attendance at all/most sessions will ensure the full benefit of the series. Register for individual sessions here.

*Like Shark Tank, but friendlier!
